The archetype I found that was problematic was '' The Orhan''. The Pearson describes the Orphan as a little girl who's parents had to give her away because they couldn't afford her. The Orphan girl gets sent to live with her Grandmother who raises her with warmth and love. The Grandmother later gets ill and dies , the orphan girl gets sent back to her parents where she would be sent every night in the streets to sell matches. The orphan girl gets abused by the farther when not selling enough matches. On one of those cold nights instead of returning home the orphan girl chose to stay outside because she would rather freeze than be home. The orphan girl trys to light up a match to get some type of heat. When the orphan girl lights up a match she sees her bits of her grandmother until she lights up all the matches and gets a full image her grandmother holds her close and the orphan girl smiles, The next day they find the orphan girl's body barefoot , dressed in rags, she was dead but died with a smile.
The basic characteristics about this archetype is about the venerable little girl, who has done nothing wrong yet is suffering so much. The irresponsible and cold parents who gave life to the little girl , abandon and abuses her at the same time showing no love or care towards their own child. The loving grandmother, who takes the little girl in and shows her the meaning of love. These types of archetypes you see on a everyday real life of the kid in school , who's anti social, has poor hygiene, always looks sad, tends be really skinny or very hungry. Who later dies and people find out it was the abusive farther who killed the child while the mother was to afraid to do anything about it.
The reason i feel like this archetype is problematic is because the way the story of the little girl takes place. Shes abandon from the beginning . Theres so much trauma and suffering from the very beginning.Than her grandmothers takes her in and gives her a reason to believe in happiness, the little girls only hope. The orphan doesn't even get the normal chance of living a life that a child should with a family , love ,the proper care etc. Than Dies in such a tragic way yet because she knows shes going with her grandmother she dies with a smile on her face. Its just confusing as to why she had to go through so much such an innocent child.

The poem I chose to write about was ''Dear Mama'' By Tupac. He was a legionary artist who's inspiration came from how he grew up and all the things living in the streets showed him. The poem is very deep it talks a lot about his child hood and the things his mother faced while trying to raise him alone. I personally relate to a lot of Tupac's poems and that's why i chose this poem to write about.
Mid-Term Reflection Blog Entry 8
So far in Eng 102 Ive learned that poetry is based on symbols. Ive learned various types of symbols such as Monomyth, Archetypes,Apostrophe, repetition ,Imaginary, paradox, alliteration and much more. Each of these symbols comes with various ways to express ones theme in a poem. Ive learned how to read poems as far as using a beat to it or saying it a certain type of way. Ive learn so much details on how to low a a poem , how to realize the symbols used in a poem, and how to read the symbolism in the poem to reflect on what the poem is about.

His Fans love and honor him for his brother hood and passion for where he came from.
In Blog Entry 3 I chose the topic of discussing his song Dear Mama because of the poetry and art that inspired such a meaningful song. One of the reasons why this song touches me so much is because I related to him on the appreciation he grew for his mother when he was old enough to understand all that she had been through trying to raise him the best way she could. He raps with a lot of details describing when he was younger all that she would do for him and 2pac being to young to realize. He describes how he sold drugs and went to jail and his mother stood by his side. As he got older he wanted to show her how much her loved her and appreciated her. In the song every word touches you because he raps with so much emotion and feelings behind his music that it almost like he’s rapping your life in a difference reference.
Music is a great form of poetry it comes from a lot emotion and passion. 2pac was great at expressing his form of art through his music. That Is why I chose his song Dear Mama as my discussion.

Artist- Tupac
Song- Dear Mama
This song is about Tupac's appreciation for his Mother and all that Tupac and his family went through. He's raps about how his Mother was dealing with drugs , the streets, coming from poverty, and being a single Mother , how she still managed to raise her two kids as best as she could. Tupac brings up how his farther dies and how he couldn't cry because '' His anger wouldn't let him feel for a stranger'' he rapped with so much passion. A lot of his fans related to him because of his passion fans could relate to his life and all he had been through a lot of his fans also came from the same back round as far as growing up in poor neighborhood with violence and drugs. So in this song he's describing how his Mom was a crack head, but how she would still make sure her kids where good, in the songs he brings up how his baby sister and him was happy as little kids because his mother had no limits in trying to make her kids happy. In the song he talks about how he starts hanging out with the '' Thugs'' in his home town and how '' even though they sell drugs they showed the young brother love'' that alone lets you understand how he was looking for love in the wrong places and even though he knew these guys where no good he felt a sense of security hanging with them. He raps about selling drugs and how didn't feel guilty he raps ''even though I sell rocks it feels good putting money in our mailbox I love paying rent when the rents due I hope you got the diamond necklace that I sent you when I low you was there for me you never left me alone because you cared for I me I can see you coming home from work late you in the kitchen trying to fix us a hot plate''. With this song Tupac perfectly describes his environment and how much he appreciates his mother for now being older and being able to realize all she went through while still trying to be the best Single Mother she can be coming from a poor environment that was built for them to fail.

Original Sin was a deep spiritual poem. When i first read it i was so confused with all the weird words and metaphors i thought the poem had to do with Robert Penn's grandfather death. The poem gave me a sense that the grandfather had past away and that although Roberts grandfather had past he could still feel the presence of his grandfathers ghost. Robert gave a lot of detail of what he felt in the poem for example he expressed noises he would here like whispers and how he seen shadows of a nodding head. Those examples led me to believe that it could be his grandfather's ghost made those noises and nodding his head. In the class discussion I learned that the poem wasn't exactly based on his grandfather's death but of his life's journeys and how he struggle as a poor kid who ended up in Harvard and becoming a professor. The poem also had to do with the death of his grandfather's and how he was infatuated with death.
